Embracing New Beginnings
“Be Brave Enough To Be Bad At Something New”
I’m Sophia (Ermidis) Kafantaris, and I am excited to share that I’m officially starting something new, which is both super scary and exciting! As we round out the introductions of our trifecta women-owned business, I am blessed with the opportunity to be a managing partner of IGIA Wellness & MedSpa! Along with my two partners, Founder & CEO Dr. Julie Tsirambidis, and Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Jackie Iacoboni, I am thrilled to launch into the aesthetic and wellness industry. After two decades of operating our family-owned restaurants, I’m excited to embark on a journey that helps men and women look and feel their best.
I’ll admit that being an adult learner hasn’t been easy, but I am embracing the challenges of learning a new line of business and making continuous education my key focus! Reaching my late 40s, I feel a little wiser, and the desire to start something new and embrace change is exhilarating! When I reviewed the business plan for IGIA, I instantly gravitated toward the idea of a Mediterranean-inspired concept that balances functional wellness with aesthetic medicine. Incorporating a Greek influence with several of my very own business practices resonated with me, and I’m excited to build relationships with each and every person who walks through our doors.
A little bit about me— I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and I’m one of four sisters. Both of my parents are of Greek descent. My father immigrated to America and worked for Ford Motor Company for many years. Although he passed away just a few short years ago, he instilled in his daughters a strong work ethic, kindness, humility, and the value of building relationships with all of our customers in the restaurant industry. These life skills have greatly influenced the person I am today.
I am very close with my siblings, and we are blessed to have our amazing mom supporting us in all our endeavors. I am married to George, a lifelong business entrepreneur, who has created a great path for us and taught me much about growing and scaling a company. My biggest success to date is being a mom to our two sons, Kosta and Victor! They are so much fun and have taught me so much in life!
I thrive on fun experiences, spending time with family and friends, and helping out anyone in need. I love traveling to Greece to reconnect with my roots and rejuvenate my soul! I look forward to bringing you amazing products to share in our spa.
Thanks, everyone, for reading, and I look forward to bringing a little IGIA “υγεια” – health – to you all!
With love/agape xoxo,
Sophia
